HELP Emma Save Lives, Become a part of her success
Emma Rider is 13 years old and has already been referred to as an American Hero and honored by Jack Markell, Governor of Delaware. Emma has collected over 25,000 pairs of shoes and her goal is to collect 25,000 more. To say it another way, Emma has filled a semi-truck trailer and is still collecting so she can fill another. WAY TO GO EMMA!
Why is Emma collecting shoes? Emma believes that everyone has the right to have clean safe water to drink. She learned that a child dies every 15 seconds from a water related disease. Her heart is set on saving the lives of as many people (especially children) as she can by collecting shoes and raising money to purchase water purification systems for those who thirst but do not have clean safe water to drink.
EDGE wants to make sure Emma reaches and exceeds her goal. Will you help her? You can read more about what motivates this young lady HERE.

Shoes For Water
sustainable safe water training

Collected shoes have two purposes; keep used shoes out of landfills and raise money for water projects.
Once collected, EDGE sells the shoes to an exporter generating money for training and water projects in developing countries.
The simple effort of thousands of people dropping off used shoes at convenient locations, and the many schools, churches and other organizations collecting shoes means EDGE gets 25,000-30,000 lbs of shoes every month! THANK YOU!
Our exporter takes the shoes to the same countries that EDGE does water /hand pump repair projects and sells them to micro business owners (at affordable prices) to help them to have a sustainable living for their families. Shoes are expensive in many of these countries and having affordable shoes is another life saving tool as they protect the owner's feet and overall health from foot abrasions, parasites and mites.
