January 20 more than 300 homeless persons had one or all of these services: Eye screening, exams
and glasses if needed, health assessment, hair cut, gloves and hats, and a hot meal.
This was a partnership that developed when Jeff Fuson, pastor of Phos Hilaron Church
came to EDGE and ask us to help them do a service project. Phos Hilaron is a new church
that has 'service' worship — a Sunday time of community service. Jefferson Street
Baptist Center, a ministry to Homeless, is a long time partner with EDGE. The EDGE Vision
Ministry lead by Dee Dee Hurt and Susan Kidwell organized a Free Health/Vision Clinic at
Jeff St Baptist Center that would involve Phos Hilaron Church, the EDGE Vision Team, and
our new partnership with Bellarmine University School of Nursing. (photos by Jerry McBroom)
